Everything is Water – Liturgy August 11, 2024
Simon Cleary will talk about some of what the river and its people taught him during his month-long walk along the banks of the Brisbane River/Maiwar in May 2022. This led to his just published fourth book, Everything is Water (UQP).
Among the most important of those things is the preciousness of water, and what rivers might have to say about the nature of change. Everything is Water has been described as ‘a perfect example of how a regional landscape - in this case, the Brisbane River and its immediate environs - can, in all its particularity, take on a universal, almost mythic dimension.’
