Fr Frank Brennan – November 14, 2021

By St Mary's in Exile

Today in our liturgy we are invited to listen to a homily by Fr Frank Brennan given at the opening eucharist for the Australian Catholic Churches recent Plenary Council.

He begins by speaking of his significant reservations about the efficacy of such a Council where only the Bishops are able to vote. He goes on to express some of the qualities that will be required of those attending the Council if any benefit were to be gained from such a gathering. Qualities such as the ability to ADAPT and CHANGE; to LISTEN DEEPLY to one another and to the movement of the HOLY SPIRIT; to RESPECT one another and to hold one another in LOVE, with HOPE as a constant companion.
