Richard Rohr (Season of Advent) – November 21, 2021
Franciscan priest Richard Rohr introduces us to the theme of Advent beautifully in a talk he gave about 5 years ago. In this brief talk, Richard speaks to us of the power of story. It is through stories, he explains, that great truths can be revealed to our small minds on small stages.
It is through stories that universal truths can speak more insightfully of things beyond the immediate and concrete to the incomprehensible and often unspeakable nature of God. Next week we begin the season of
Advent, a time of preparing for Christmas. This advent we would like to explore the principal characters in the Christmas story and ask ourselves what are some of the deeper messages these characters might have hidden for us all.
