The Powerful Owl Community Art Day @ Mt Coot-tha, September 16th

By Katie McGuire

A ‘Get Back to Nature’ community event that focuses on the Beauty of Mt Coot-tha

When: 10am – 2pm, September 16th, 2018.
Where: JC Slughter Falls, Mt Cootha, Brisbane
How much: Free!

Goshawks, wrens, gliders, micro-bats and powerful owls are amongst the 370 species of wildlife and 450 native plants species that call Mt Cootha home.

On our Powerful Owl Community Art Day, we invite guests to come together in family groups, or singles joining forces, to create Earth Mandalas, Fairy Houses or Rock Towers that reflect the spirit of the flora and fauna of this Sacred Mountain.

After the bush walk and creative fun in making our art designs out of nature, we invite guests to bring a picnic lunch and come together on the grass at JC Slaughter Falls and listen to live music and guest speakers who can tell us more about the mountain and it's wildlife, and what we can do to ensure the flora and fauna thrive for future generations to enjoy!

You may wish to pre-plan ideas for your art work and bring extra crystals or naturally dyed sand etc, or wait and see what objects reveal themselves in the bush on the day.

Artists and walking guides will be present at the event to help out where necessary. All artistic skill levels welcome!
