All our Easter liturgies for 2021 will now be held online

Thank you for supporting our online liturgies throughout the COVID-19 pandemic.

We don't have to be completely isolated from our community. We can come together in a virtual holy space. Let us celebrate our liturgy online. Let us think of each other as we pray, listen and sing at the same time. 

I met on a video conference with 36 Queensland Community Alliance leaders this afternoon. We all reported on what was happening in our various communities. Very enlightening. Devett Kennedy has given a very good summary on the meeting and the things we can do.

Because of the escalating spread of the Covid19 virus the unhappy decision has been made to cancel the liturgies this weekend. This decision was made as a large number of people indicated their great concern that meeting would put people at risk. We need to play our part in restricting the spread of the virus.

What might a treaty or treaties between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Australians in Queensland mean? What does it mean to you?

This year we celebrated 10 years since our leaving of the old St Marys Church. Ten years ago we walked from the Church with lanterns in hand and sadness in our hearts to the TLC Building. For 10 years we have proudly forged a new way of being a Faith Community bringing hope to many.

Those calling for reform within the church say recent events have paved the way to expand the role of women in Catholicism. Some believe that includes female priests. All will be considered when bishops and other representatives from across the country meet to discuss the future of the church in 2020.
